Programmer capabilites on V10 Excursion
I have seen a lot of conversations over programmer's but seems no confirmation on what it can or can not do for a V10 as well as for the Excursion as a whole.
I sent an Email to Hypertech and found out this in response from Hypertech:
Part# 41034 is the correct Power Programmer. It has our tuning for 87 or 93 octane. It will calibrate the speedometer for tire size changes 24-34 inches in diameter. The rev limiter is adjustable and so are the shift points. It will also firm up the transmission shifts.
It will not move the speed limiter, this is not available on most heavy duty vehicles. Thanks.
The programmer does everything I want it to do, except for the speed limiter! This is the only reason I will not go for it. I am tired of trying to pass someone and the thing starts jerking and bucking while I am in the middle and need just a little more for just a few seconds!

www.sctflash.com it's the excalibrater2 sf you want to look at 3 factory tunes dealer reprogramable to emprove it even more. plus it's the only very good one for a ford. just check out the web site motorheaven this sites sponser sells them

You really need to go over 98 MPH! Does the other car really need to get passed then?
My Super Duty V10 is spped regulated to just about 98 MPH. With 285's I would be afraid the tires would come apart much above 100.
To each his own. The SCMT 1715 will raise the speed limiter but not adjust for tire size.

the sct lets you remove the stop and make ajustments for gear changes and tires, increase shift firmness, and fuel amounts. again check out their web site, hyperchip i would not 10 cents for had them one time never again
