Of you guys that special ordered your truck, how long did it take to come in from the day you actually ordered it?!? The dealer told me gas engines usually come in in 5-6 weeks. The diesels take about 2 weeks longer.

I ordered my V10 12/12/05, the dealer sent the order into Ford the same day (I have a copy of the order from them), 1/3/6 I called the dealer to ask about the order status, she said no news at all yet. So I asked if thats the case, can I change the color I ordered without delaying the delivery date? She said. NO PROBLEM! Until there is a clear date you can change the order all you want and it wont have an effect (I changed from green to black when I saw a black 350 on a dealers lot and fell in love with it! HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!!!!).

Well now its 1/18/6, FIVE weeks from my order, and STILL NO CLEAR DATE OR ANYTHING!!! I'm slowly dieing here!!!!

 

tell the dealer to check the order and look for the vin which should be there by now. i hadd mine in 7 weeks . i'm having a brain fart so i don't remember how they do check it but it's fully possible. had my vin in 2 weeks.
your delay could be that he orderd for stock not specail order.
get on their six big time .

 

I was told I'd have a VIN number within 2 weeks of the order date as well with a 6-8 week delivery time at the longest for a V-10 truck.

 

I ordered my '06 F250 V10 6spd manual 4X2 on the 4th of Jan. I got my VIN on the 13th, with a prospective build date for the week of the 23rd of Jan. And delivery of the truck 10 business days after completion. So I'm looking for the truck around the second or third week of February. We'll see.

I believe they shut the plant(s) down around the end of the year, so that may have delayed your order.

I was told that by 3 different dealers as well as a friend who used to work for Ford.

 

I ordered mine Dec. 3 /04, it was built on Jan.11/05 and it arrived at my Dealer on Jan. 27.

I picked it up on Jan. 30/05

I only got my VIN and build date about Jan 4, so I had my VIN in 30 days so yours is running slow.

I am wondering if part of the factory is ramping up for the 07 changes and they have caused a backlog. Oh well, when you get it you are going to love it but waiting for a new factory order is hard on a man's patience. Good luck and you should be hearing soon I hope. Take care, Wrench

 

I ordered mine on 10-03-05 and arrived at the dealer 11-23-05, I picked it up 11-26-05. It has not been back to the dealer, it is perfect in every way. THIS IS ONE FINE TRUCK!

Ordered ours 6/30 and picked it up 8/20/05. Had the VIN # late July. I'd start pushing the dealer to find out what happened / anticipated ETA.

 

You guys are right about the shut down, ALL of the suppliers for automotive are shut down for AT LEAST a week over Christmas. The assembly plants even longer than that. They all do this about twice a year (once in june or july to) for retooling, and to allow the maintenance crews to catch up. (I work as a vendor for most of the auto manufacturers myself, so I see all this first hand).

REALLY getting to hate this Dodge I'm driving now!!!! I've got all kinds of new parts at my house just waiting for the new truck (Hella 4000 lights, KC bar, Lund visors, billet grill inserts, exc., exc.). I feel like kicking my old truck every time I see it! HATE THE WAIT!!!

I guess with the shut downs I can see the extra time needed on the order, just doesnt make it any easier! I also guess I should be happy about the wait. All the plants I've visited this week are just now getting the last "post rebuild bugs" worked out of their equipment. The first 2 weeks after the shut downs things are more of a mess than before shut down because of little unexpected problems nobody took into acount when doing the work.

All I know is I WANT MY V10!!!

is that what it is art? we just had a burn out contest hemi ver v10, at the shop the v10 won over the hemi. now i need another rams head for my door. and i always thought that was a support group meeting.
but i did cheat a bit. it's called a nox fogger.

Just ordered a Lund tonneau cover today, Truck's GOTTA get here soon! Running out of places to put these parts!!! Also went by the dealer (just double checking to be sure it wasnt there!) found a Lariat with the same interior color and options I ordered and sat in it for a little while... Felt good! Also felt like some kinda junky at that point.

Anybody know why you cant get 20" rims with the camper package??? Seem's weird! Those rims/tires look gooood! Given that I could only get one or the other I opted for the camper package.
