Coolant SCA test

I am told by the dealer to add a bottle of the SCA additve every year to the coolant. I was able to but test strips at NAPA that give % gycol and pH level.
No one aroung here has the recomended test strips, but claims the pH test is the one that determines the SCA requirement. So my question is where is the pH level supose to be with a system properly charged with the additve. Mine is a 8 now, so do I need the additve or not?

ph of 8 is good but the main thing to look for in the nitrite level ideal is 1200ppm
