I was degreasing my engine on my 1990 F-150 and after I went for a spin I noticed my clutch was slipping. I guess i must have gotten oil or something down in the clutch. Is there a fix for this or will it just go away.
I would be real easy on that clutch until it wears off. With grease or oil on the disc it will probably chatter or hop under a load. That will lead to burnished spots on the disc that wont go away.
Man you must have really doused that thing to get enough grease in there to make a clutch slip. Really with the clutch fully released nothing should have gotten on the disc at all. Something else may be wrong. Hopefully nothing too serious....
Nevermind guys. I went to work this morning and it didn't slip anymore. A bit odd considering it slipped until I stopped driving last night then it magically goes away. Oh well not complaining
