For the most part my Truxedo was as close to water tight as soft cover gets.
Every cover that I've had have leaked at the corners, and at the tailgate.
So you have the Truxedo RT? I like the way that angles on the side and all..looks like it would be better for water to run off not in. Although I think I am going to go with the Extang RT. Little more money but, I like it being completely flat...and the fact that autoanything will do the bill me later on it..since it is over $250.00. I kind of need my tax money back before I can get it...but, I don't want to wait! So that gets me the best of both worlds!
I have one and it is great. I got a factory 2nd from Cousins on ebay. It was 420 shipped. I would do it again
You got lucky, Hank. Been watching E-bay everyday and K-covers are few and far between. When one does come up it's usually for a Dodge. I'll keep an eye open but my bet is I'll have to "pay the man" sometime in the next few months. Oh well, some mods you can easily save money while others cost a bit more. It all evens out in the end and makes our trucks all that much more enjoyable.
I ordered an undercover in December. Took my son 30 minutes to install. It is really a superior product. I have an artificial shoulder so I needed something light and lockable. Even my wife likes it. It increased my MPG by 1 mile per gallon. Cost was $586 including freight. Received it 7 days after internet order.

My current cover is a Access RT. It really doesnt float my boat, but it does get the job done.
I had a Extang RT (flat style) on my '00 F250 PSD, and I really liked it alot. You'll like how the clamping system works, and even the clamps have hook points incorporated in them. The draw back is the limited amount of tensioning for the cover.
I had a Truxedo RT on my '02 F150 supercrew, and I really liked it the best because of the ruggedness and the spring loaded tensioning.

So you think the Truxedo is better and will stay tighter? Hmmm...back to the drawing board!
Superb!!!!! On and off in less than a minute. Hangs on garage wall while off. About 58lbs. Doesn't get any better. http://www.undercoverinfo.com/
I had looked at something like this awhile back. Here's the reasons why I didn't buy one.
If you remove it to haul a large load, drive a long distance, unload that large object (such as a motorcycle), now you have to drive back with out that cover, which would be a problem if you wanted to bring back something smaller that needs to be covered. At least the tonneau rolls up neatly out of the way.
If you remove that large cover, now you have to store it somewhere, which stinks if you don't have a garage. This also means it could get stolen. If i have to remove my cover, I can easily put it in the house as I don't have a garage, or a shed large enough to fit that large cover in.

Wow. The price of the Undercover is very close to that of the K-cover. My mistake thinking it was hugely different. Both are quality covers that can be easily removed if you need the entire bed for hauling.
I picked up an Access roll-up cover from a cat for $325.00 including $45 to ship it to my door. I like the Access because I can roll it up farward enough so that it doesn't hit the front tires of the motorcycles I load to and from the track.

Check out the Extang full tilt. I believe it is in your price range. Easy to install. If I can do it anyone can. It can be raised like a giant trunk lid on 2 hydraulic lifts. All you do is flip 2 latches, push it up, and it stays up. It is great for getting things that roll to the front of the bed. It can also be rolled up, or removed in 2 seconds without rolling it up. Just open it to 90 degrees ant the whole thing comes off.
