As i posted earlier i picked up an 86 F-250 with a 351W C6 4x4 with a flatbed. The engine has been swapped in its got an edelbrock intake and holley 4brl. When i put the headers on i crossed two plug wires and the truck backfired really bad on startup. Now it backfires anytime under load or when you put your foot into it. If i pull out slowly and cruise it runs fine. Im thinking i blew the powervalve out of the carb. Ive beentold holleys are prone to this. I was just wondering what you guys thought. Its been a while since ive tinkered with a carb. Ive been diging the diesel scene lately and im a little out of my element. Ive replaced airfilter, fuel filter plugs, wires, cap, rotor, Valvecover gaskets, starter, silenoid, tranny cooling lines, tranny filter, fluid, coolent, oil, and diff fluids. Needless to day ive got more into it than what i payed for it. Man i love working old stuff i spent my whole xmas vacation from work under that thing. It felt great to get my hands dirty. You just cant do that on a new truck.
