Is getting the frame straightened possible?

Hey guys- I have a 85 f-150 always pulled a little to the right but i just thought it was out of alignment- lifted it 4 inches and put 31" tires on- had it aligned and the mechanic told me that the frame was bent- he showd me where and sure enough- so now it pulls slightly to the right and i'm getting wear on the front right tire outer edge. damn. so my question is- has anyone had a f150 frame fixed or is it something oi just have to live with- thanks

chris

Any body shop can put your truck on a frame rack and tell you if the frame is bent. My Dad used to work in a body shop and he and my uncle used to fix them all the time. The frame rack has a series of lasers and plum-bobs on it to measure certain areas on the frame. After the frame is measured, you can use a 2 or 3 ton jack to pull it back into submission if it is bent.

It can be a little costly, as they will charge you like $150 just to put it on their machine, then charge by the hour (not sure of the going rate in my area). See if they can give you some kind of rough estimate--with the truck in front of them--of about how long it will take to fix so you can decide if it's worth it. It doesn't sound like the frame's bent that much, so it shouldn't be too bad.........
