how can i replace the lamp in my gear selector so i know what gear i am in at night, i think the bulb in in the steering column but i dont know how to change the bulb?? do i have to pull the steering wheel?? is the bulb the same type as the kind used in the intrument cluster?
my truck is a 77 f250 460 with a C6 column shift trans...
You will need to pull the wheel and then take out the turn signal mechanism. There are two atachment screws holding the PRND21 bezel in place. The bulb is under/ behind this.
More or less anyways. The bulb in mine burned out years ago.
How can you not know what gear you are in? Obviously you know the selector sequence.
