i just purchased a 03 250 cc lb when i start driving the doors lock but when i stop and put it in park they dont unlock. is that normal? and is there a way to overide this function like cutting a wire to the plc it gets really aggervating getting out and walking around the truck just to find that the door is still locked then having to walk back around to unlock it
If you have the owners manual, somewhere in there is the sequence for turning off the auto locks. Something like turning on the ignition and buckle & unbuckle the seatbelt 3 times...something like that. Daughter has the truck until tomorrow, can't help any more than that right away.
Somebody may reply right away that can help. The '01 F150 Manual may or may not help. Take a look. I had an F150 Supercrew that had the same annoying feature enabled when I got it, so I'm 50/50 certain that it will help.
Otherwise I'll try and help tomorrow
With ignition off and all doors closed complete steps 1-7 within 30 seconds
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Press the power door unlock control three times.
3. Turn the ignition key from ON to OFF.
4. Press the power door unlock control three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to ON. The horn will chirp.
6. press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long chirp) if the autolock was activated.
7. Turn the ignition to OFF. The horn will chirp once to confirm the procedure is complete.
