Exhaust

I want to run dual exhaust 2 1/2" stainless Front to back. I was wondering if there was anywhere to get the rear chunk off the muffler to the end of the tailpipe. I want to exit the exhaust to the side behind the rear tires. And the same on the otherside. If anyone has any sugestions that would be great.

Have you decided on running duals inside or outside the frame?Mine are inside but it gets tight to work on things at times.Outside of frame would also reduce heat.Just a couple of things to confuse you, oops I mean to think about.

I'll run them inside, can't say I like the way they look outside the frame. Also I put a 351 Windsor in and the headers on it are block huggers, which are shorties that meat and dump in the center. So it would be some intense bends to get them to go outside the frame. And who actually does run them down the outside of the frame?

Check your local exhaust shop. Many can fabricate up a SS set cheaper than you can mess with it.

Where do you get the fender headers, I have the other long tubes and hate them on my 4x4, hang too low.

I like shorties, they keep the exhaust in the factory location, but the headers I have came with the truck, they are from Summit. When you run them outside the frame rails, you don't have much room for pipe, so it's rather loud, and close to the cab, so noise inside increases.
I haven't seen the fender headers in LMC or JCWhitney.

If your local exhaust shop is willing to bring it in bendable stainless pipe is available. Industrial stainless pipe will just crush and kink if you try and bend it.
