Hey SWOK What are you gonna do with that extra short bed you got it doesnt look too bad?
actually its a long bed, i have it listed in the FTE classifieds, and actually have a buyer now.....which rocks cause i didnt pay that much more for the whole body than what im getting back out of selling the bed ...thanks FTE.....
Cool! I have a 75 with 2wd and a 429. Did you install the 460?? Details, give me details!! I just found a crewcab 2wd to get the big brakes and heavier running gear from. I have the 4wd stuff, but holding on to it for other projects.
the 460 is factory, so is the a/c and cruise(cruise not working)
One strange thing is that my truck sits about 2 1/2" higher than the 2WD supercabs I have seen. All suspension parts look factory.
Factory?? I was not awarwe they put a 460 in a F150?? Mine looks factory as well and I can not tell anything has been changed. I will not sware it is a 429 though. Going to remove a plug and try the wooden dowel rod trick to try and check stroke. It has ac and cruise as well....
I have had the truck about 8 months. 3Rd owner. All numbers match. From what I have learned everything about this truck is 250 except the brakes, so it is classified as a 150 ranger xlt
I picked up a B.C. 76 F250 Ranger SuperCab. It has a really strange mix of parts on it. The motor is a 460, auto trans and 2WD, but the suspension is odd. It has 8 lug wheels, 16x7 on the front and 16x10 on the rear. It has dual tanks and complete dual electrical systems with batteries and solenoids etc....
I really lucked out with this one as the drivetrain is very fresh, suspension all recently rebuilt and a new Dana 60 rear end. Just finishing off the bodywork and expect to have it back on the road by the middle of March.
Its a great old beast but it costs over $150 Cdn to fill up and the previous owner told me that the best he got out of both tanks was 360 miles. The HORROR, may rename the truck "Global Warmer". I will have to take out a loan every time we tow my race car to the track.
Mines a 78 Custom 250 super, trailer special ,400 ,C6, 3.54s, D44 and D60, Jade Green. I bought it from the original owners...Have added 80s intermitant wipers 33/12.50s on old style 16.5 x 9.75 slot rims poly bushings Cd player and reciever hitch. It tows great & gets about 10 mpg no matter what its doing.
