Which one

I am buying a new used vehicle I was looking at a Chevy suburban 5.3 Z71 for 25000 but I just seen a 03 Ex 7.3 for about the same money. I have a travel trailer 28ft 5500lbs so its not to heavy for the burb to tow.

For towing with an SUV there's only the Diesel Excursion that'll do the job without a sweat

Ditto the X. While many small-block motors are in trucks & SUVs rated to tow 7K#, I've found they seem to labor pretty hard with anything upwards of 5K#. I tow only 5,600#, and my V10 makes it seem like the trailer's not even back there. I'm sure the big diesel will hardly feel it at all.

I got my 7.3L Ex two weeks ago and I have not looked back! Its a 2wd and if I draft an 18wheeler I was getting 20mpg w/o any mods!

I'd get the X too, you'll average way better with the X than with the burb. Towing 7-8k with the X you'd probably see about 12-14 mpg give or take. Towing with the burb you'd probably see about 8-10 if that. I towed a about 7k with my X (A jeep cherokee and the trailer) and I acutally forgot I was towing something until I looked in the rearview mirror. So.....
