fuel pressure inertia switch
My work truck is a 4.9L 1990 efi F-150. I was wondering if I have to shut off the ineretia switch to change the fuel filter and crank the engine. The manual only said what to do if the vehicle is rolled. Also any tricky stuff or suggestions on changing this filter?

You can unplug the electrical connection to the ineretia switch and then start the motor to bleed down the fuel pressure. Not sure on the filter connections. Does it have the plastic clips or the round connection with springs inside? Plastic clips are pretty easy to get off but you should replace them if they look bent out of shape. The metal spring type uses a tool to get the two sections apart. The tool can be bought a most auot parts stores.
