Looking at truck

I have been pounding autotrader.com and found something. I need to know if this sounds too good to be true.

2004 F-250 4x4
74,300 Miles
Dark Red/Grey
6.0L PSD
4-Speed Auto (Is this the 4R100 or the other one?)
Ext Cab, Short Bed. Etc.
$22995

Good? Bad? I am negative on my current loan so I only want to do this once. Advice. Opinions..

Thanks

sounds too good to be true to me, I'd think the price should be around 27-29

74,300 miles for a 04 seems kinda high to me. I'd also check on what kinda driving was done on those 74K miles. And yea, price seems low to me too. If you check KBB, you'll get a better idea of what it should be.

it could be a good deal. check with a dealer and run a oasis report. after all it does have plenty of warranty left.

Could be priced low due to the high mileage.

True, but also not so true. High mileage diesels still fetch a pretty good price unless they're really beat up. It could be that the owner paid cash for the truck and/or doesn't realize how much the truck is worth.

Exactly, but also it could have been one of the early problem trucks of '04 so an OASIS report would definately be a good idea.

Yeah, or it could be a "buy-back" but I doubt it with those kind of miles.

Those kind of miles sound like lots of highway travel, maybe even pulling a trailer?

Run it through KBB

Eh, if I were you I'd look for an '02 or '03 7.3. It would probably be a safer bet. Unless you want to take the risk.
