I get the same sound with my truck and I was actually thinking it was the torsion bars creaking and growning under the extra pressure of turning and braking. Let me know if you find anything else out with yours. The only reason I say the torsions bars is because I have changed out everything else when I put in the lift. New wheel bearings, tierod ends(Inner and outer), upper and lower ball joints, new CV joints and all of the rest of the front suspension(Brackets and such for the lift) is new, all except the torsion bars. That is why I think that is where the noise is coming from.
Guys I'm not sure what to do, but thinking by replacing ball joints I might solve noise problem and take care of what seems to be an issue with these front ends at the same time. Do I need to do both sides at same time? Is it a good idea to replace tie rod ends also? I have not done any of the prior work myself, but can do basic wrenching and follow instructions--so I will look at the ball joint post and go from there. I can't wait until I can post the answer to this noise. This website has been a great help and a source for info. Any more thoughts or ideas are welcome THANKS!
If you are going to change one, change both as you will need to get the front end realigned. No sence in having to get the front end alignment twice. Also if you change a tie rod end, change all four at the same time. If you only change one, it will more than likely ware out prematurely. Also leads back to front end alignment. One other thing I was thinking of. Did you happen to crank up the torsion bars to level out the front end? If so,again with the front end alignment as this will change the camber angle. Good luck and keep us posted.
