How did you guys get the tailhousing off of your ZFs?

I've moved your question to a more appropriate forum for you.
The quick answer is that you can't remove the extension housing. You have to pull the front case off the extension housing. Pretty much the whole transmission has to come apart.

Alright, how about this: how do you get the nut off of the output shaft? What size is that, and will that nut spin off with an impact wrench?

I don't remember what size the nut is. It's been a while since I've done one.
I seem to recall though that it's got to be a thin wall socket.
A good impact should spin it off.
