The tach wiring should be there already, the temp & pressure gauge probably need the correct sensors to work right (ie sensors for a '90 f350) I'd hook them up first and see how well they work. Keep in mind that the oil pressure is just a dummy light that uses a needle instead of a light. If there is any pressure (above 4psi) the needle will read somewhere in the normal range. Well thats how it would work with the correct sensor at least. I'm not sure where the volt meter gets its source from.

Take care,
Tim

ok what does the tach run off? will there be a tach wire somewere in the mess of wires or does it run off the ecm i alredy bought the sensors for the oil and temp i jus have to hook them up im sure the will work because if i ground the wires out the gauge goes from 1 end to the other i jus0t dont want to buy a cluster and not be able to use it also what years are interchangable 87-? thanks

it runs off the coil. I beleive its already part of the gauges wiring harness; its just not used by non-tach clusters. Otherwise its a white wire in the dash with a pink or red stripe.

I'm not sure what years are interchangeable with yours. Hopefully someone else will post that info.

I did all this crap to my pickup when i put the 460 in my 88 F-150. The easiest thing to do is get a chiltons manual for your year and make of pickup and begin looking at all the wiring diagrams in the back. i know its a pian in the a*s but that was the only way i could figure out which ones to keep and ones to cut. and you will have to re-use your factory sensors( Temp, Oil pressure, ect...) . The cluster you can get out of an 87 all the way to a 91 F-150 through F-350. Just make sure that the cluster come out of a gas V-8. (i guess a straight six might work?, but save the trouble just get it out of an V8). once you start getting rid of wires it eventually get easier. Good Luck.
