94, 302 Headlight Trouble

My headlights point down about 10 ft in front of my truck. The screws don't seem to raise or lower my headlights. If you push or pull the lens on the front of the truck, there is quite a bit of free play. They always kind of hang back to where they are shining towards the ground again though. I suppose I can always buy the whole fixtures to replace, just wondering if anyone else had ever had any similar problems and if there's anything you can do to fix it. Thanks.

Is it possible you are turning the wrong screws?

Play in headlights

Nope. Turning the right screws. My brother has the same kind of truck I do and I checked his yesterday and his lights don't move at all when touched from the outside. Mine seem like they are attached at the top but the bottom will push back into the truck like the bottoms of the light housings are not connected to anything. Didn't know if that was a common problem with a quick fix or not.

sounds like they are not bolted in properly or they have a broken part or missing screw or bolt.

i saw a post of a diagram on headlight replacement on forum.

it is a link in this post:

The whole assembly is most likely broken. My friend used his 96 2wd F150 to push my 84 Chevy out of the road when it broke down, and his assembly cracked and now u can move it on the outside with free play like you described. He bought the new assembly to fix the problem.
