Well, it took all of 2 days, but I finally got the Rubicon Express leveling kit installed. I am real happy with the final result and the quality of the kit. I don't reccomend this kit for the shade-tree machanic unless you have plenty of tall jackstands and a full complement of tools. My father-in-law and I worked together on this project at his shop which is a full auto shop. Never-the-less, it was a good learning experience (my first lift) and a great final product. I went with the RE 52000 Kit and some F350 rear blocks to bring it all up a little. Comments are appreciated.
Thanks, the tires are 285/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler MT's. The F350 Blocks raised the rear end up about an inch and a half. Without them, the leveling kit would make the truck sit nose high.
Truck looks great , I understand exactly how ya feel . I just spent the last 1.5 days installing a 4" lift on mine . Maybe its my age but it sure seemed like a lot more work than the last time I lifted a leaf spring front end , I`m sore everywhere . I guess being 51 years old don`t make the job any easier either ,glad its behind me now , good luck with your truck
Nothing fancy just a rough country 4" on my 03 250 Reg cab . I think I`ll be able to pick my arms up high enough to take a picture tomorrow , I`ll see what I can do . The wheels won`t be in until the middle of next week .By then I should have any bugs out of what I`ve done so far . At rhis point I think the tire will be 35" BFG ATs. Shocks are just a set of stiff rough country . I used Rancho 9000x shocks on my last truck and have not really decided on what I will go with on this one
That looks great. I think the RF52000 system is a 2.5" leveling kit to all those that asked how tall the kit is. I installed my 3" hanger system (Basically same thing as the RE kit with the hangers, shackles, drop bracket, etc) a few months back and it was my first time also. I did it with my girlfriend's help and it took me 4 hours for the front and like 10 minutes for the rear (F350 4" blocks); granted I did it in my shop with a lift and airtools. It was a tough and everything is freaking heavy lol. I remember when I looked over the instructions I told myself, "This will be a breeze." Yeah, maybe not.
