They make two oils that are compatable. Mobil 1 DelVAC 15w40 (not to be confused with Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15w40) which retails at about $28 per gallon. Or the new Mobil 1 Truck & SUV Formula 5w40 which retails at $5.39 a Qt. Both of the oils meet the CI-4 Requirement and are POwerstroke approved.
Save yourself some money! Go to Wal-Mart and buy Rotella 5W40 synthetic. It works great and is much, much cheaper. I use it in my 2004 F250 Lariat, PSD,CC,FX4 with no problems.

i think you got them confused. delvac 1300 super is the regular dino 15w40 goes for 8.00 a gallon the delvac1 is the synthetic 5w40 and goes for 28.00 a gallon it is identical to the old T&S oil mobil used to sell. mobil is renaming the truck and suv oil , they are calling it Turbo diesel oil and jacking the price way up. it will be the same price as mobil EP 27.00 for 5 quarts.

You just save your own money and buy that same garbage(ROTELLA) you have been running. I wouldn't run a Shell Product in my 2 stroke weedeater. I will stick to Pennzoil or Mobil in DINO oil and Mobil 1 for synthetic.
CI4+ rated oil is the newest and latest standard for EGR valved truck motors. It has better soot and viscosity control.
Mobil Truck & SUV is not CI4+ rated. I recommend using any oil, dino or synth, that is CI4+ rated and change every oil and filter (Racor or Motorcraft filters) every 5,000 miles.
Personally, I use Rotella Syn (5W-40) and picked 1 mpg and it is CI4+ rated (as others are). This motor thrives on clean, fresh oil to fire the injectors and keep the EGR clean or cleaner.
Using non Racor made (OEM oil filter manufacture) is a risk I (and many others) are not willing to take with this highly tuned and sensored motor and using a name-brand CI4+ rated oil is key (no matter what is written in your manual)... useing the newest diesel oil rated oil is key!!!
I don't care how ugly it gets. Rotella junk and always will be in my book. I ran Rotella in mine for a day and had to change it on my 04. TRIED IT ONCE AND NEVER AGAIN!
where is the best place to get the filters. I just changed mine at 10k with the fram. looked identical but if i need to change to a better filter at 11k i will. I used rotella 15-40 CI4+ oil. I think its a blended oil.

What happened after 1 day? Can't imagine any oil showing problems after 1 day... dino or synthetic or any brand... even Walmart's P/L brand???

It has been written on this site that RACOR makes the Motorcraft and Fram filters. If you see the "made in Germany" and the same manufacturing numbers then it is the same filter just re-packaged.
I buy Motorcraft filters at my local auto parts store and pay $19.95 or so. Every 5,000 miles is no big deal and I do not have to buy 6 or more at a time like some internet sites offer in order to save a bit more. For a buck or two, I just use the Motorcraft since no others have been shown to work as well as they are made by RACOR and are quality. WIX fuel filters use to be the same looking and made by RACOR, but now it has been reported that they have changed... so I will stick with these, but your Fram's should be fine!!
