ok, i own a 1990 ford f150 XLT Lariat and i was wondering if limited-slip differentials were standard on these models? and i was also wondering if there are common problems with this trucks that i should watch out for?
here's my truck specs:
1990 ford f150 XLT Lariat, 4.9L inline 6, E4OD automatic transmission, 115,475 miles (approx.), 4x2, regular cab, everything still stock.
The odds of getting a LS are directionally porportional to how many were made that way, not how many different differential options were available.
For example in 72 there were 10 paint codes available for the hemi cuda; out of 2372 of those sold only 6 were paisley, do you really think you odds of getting a paisley cuda are 1 in 10?
You're absolutely correct. Good eye!
The example given was purely ficticious to present the point.
There were no Hemi's in 72, nor where there any convertible 'Cudas. I'm not sure about the Paisley option which was interior cloth trim, the flowery one. There were 17 paint choices I beleive.
Also notice that only one limited slip axle (C9) was available prior to 1990.
Sorry you are wrong. Following your logic there are no axles except for the 17, 36, c9 before 1990 which is not true. From my 1988 Ford service manual there are the follow axles 12, 18, 19, 25, 27, 29 35, 39, 45, 49, 65, 69, 72, 73, h5, h8, h9, b5, b9, c5, c9, d5, f5, so at least that many where offered in 1988. I don't know about before that.
