I have a 1999 E150 4.6L 120,000mi that has been missing. I have replaced the wires, plugs and coils.
The missing has been hit and miss for over a year. I had orginally replaced the plugs with bosch. After talking to a Ford Mechanic he explained that using Motorcraft plugs are the best. If this mechanic was not a friend of mine I would have not believed it would have made a difference. I have noticed on this forum his advice is common for this engine.
After changing the plugs (Motorcraft), wires and coils (Accel) the miss came back within 500mi, only under heavy load. This time the MIL came on and with the codes of #2 and #8 misfire. Now the miss is there all the time at all RPMs.
I wanted to swap the coils since the output on these two plugs appears to be weak when viewed on a scope to rule out the coil. Unfortunatly ran out of time due to rain/snow. (Van is to tall to fit in garage).
I have the same problem and I did a wires and plugs and the the cole pack that #2 come out and I still get the and I feel it when it is about 1000 rpm to about 1500 rpm in 4 gear
