Here are 2 workbenches I built, I used 3/4" hardwood flooring for the tops. It probably wouldnt hold up to an engine teardown, but the cost was right, The first one cost me almost nothing as I pulled the Cabinet out of the kitchen,
The second cost me wheels, a 2x4 some plywood and a cabinet from home depo less than 100 bucks, I dont really like how it rolls (the cab interferes with the wheel movement, so I might change that, but it is very handy.
Looks nice, but it's not fair - being your own flooring connection and all. And what's with being able to walk through your shop - you need a lot more tools. It'll get better with time.
I need enough flooring scraps to do an "L" shaped bench, about 20'x25', with stain and urethane. That's a nice look.
