I think I'm going nuts! I have an '05 FX4 Screw, and when I drive at all speeds and hit small imperfections in the road, it feels like there's something loose in the steering or front suspension. I can only feel it in the steering wheel. It seems to be worse when I move the steering wheel to the left when changing lanes or even when I'm putting left steering pressure. Occasionally it will act up when I apply the brakes. It doesn't do it consistently enough to be caught by the service tech, but it's driving me crazy. This is not a vibration or shimmy. If I hit a speed bump or large bump I can't replicate it. Anybody else have this problem?
Well in the case of the levelers, your front track has narrowed slightly, so it will feel more flightly. Have you checked your tires for balljoint play? How about steering rack assembly?
I really h ave not checked anything to be honest. not sure how to check any of those items you mentioned. Want to explain in detail to a technical moron?
I also have just started to notice this on my 05 Scab xlt. I have about 8500 miles and got the truck in Aug. Mine seems to be something loose in the colum or rack, it seems more "inside" than outside, but it really only happens over small bumps. At first I thought maybe the tilt but it all seems tight,I will have to get under the dash and check all bolts.
