On my 77, the fuel guage doesn't work at all. I suspect it's just a faulty connection somewhere and not the sending unit so I want to check that first.
If it turns out to be the sending unit, is that something I can replace without taking the tank off or draining it? I don't know where the sending unit exactly or how that works... What can I do to test it?
Dual tanks or single tank.
I suspect single tank .
The sending unit should be on the forward part of the tank.
Easily accessible, while on ramps if you don't have a trailer hitch in the way.
The Fuel *Gauge* (please note spelling)in some trucks has been the fault of the printed circuit.
Does the Temp Gauge also react or go dead at the same time ?

My truck has a single tank. All the other gauges work fine and only the fuel gauge is off. The fuel gauge doesn't work at all, it's not an intermittent problem.
