I bought an aftermarket set of guages that came with a fuel guage and it's own sending unit. The sending unit allows you to adjust its float up and down and I think adjust the angle that the float is at. I'm not even sure if the sending unit will bolt in, I'm pretty sure its too small and I'll have to fabricate some sort of bracket on the tank for it. Either way, I don't like it at all. So I'd like to try to use my old sending unit. The sending unit for this one has an OHM range of 240-33. Does anybody have any idea if this is close to the stock one is for a 72 F100 Custom Cab? If I can't find out, I think I'll just hook the guage up to the stock one temporarily to see what happens. I really dont' feel like putting this sending unit in. Thanks.

 

Good question. I was going to search or post something similar too. I've seen that info. before, but can't recall exactly, but I don't think it was the range you stated. I could be mixing that up with other vehicles I'm working on though. Did you search this forum? I know I've seen that info. before.

For most Fords older than 1989-
73 ohms empty, 8 to 12 ohms full
