trans question?
My, '85 supercab 4x4 is in need of a new clutch. Since I am going to be in there anyway I was wondering if there is a better transmision that is a direct bolt in? I do some towing, (8000-10,000) pounds about once a week. The problem I am having is the gears are to spread. I don't really think I need an overdrive, (I very rarely get above 45 mph in the seattle traffic) I just want a little closer ratio. Thanks for any input...
Do you have an internal or external slave? If it's external I wouldn't think it would be too bad swapping in a ZF-5 from a 94-97 Ford diesel.
