I am hooking up my Pyro, Boost, Trans temp. gauges. I would like to know what are the best places to tap into for all of these. Thanks,
Pyro: driver's side exhaust manifold. Boost: intake manifold (5-way Y-pipe), AIH plug with boost line fitting works very well. Trans temp: plug on the transmission, driver's side, just above and in front of the electrical connector.
I just downloaded some PDF instructions from them with no problems. Sounds like it may be your computer. Try a right click, then "save as" and save it to your desktop, rather than letting it open the file in your internet explorer window. Then just click on the downloaded file that is on your desktop to open the instructions.
Installing the gauges was pretty simple, and gives me more peace of mind. I have the gauges mounted on my "A" piller, with the EGT on top, boast in the middle and the tranny gauge low down. When I am driving, that puts the most important gauge (EGT) at eye level. If I was going to redo the mount, I would put the tranny gauge in the middle, because it is more important than the boast.
As a side note, allot of EGT gauges come with a sensor and a clamp that has a hole drilled in it. If I had thought more about it, I wouldn't have used that, and would have drilled and tapped the manifold and put the screw in adapter in to hold the sensor tip. Just a thought. My way was easier, but will fail eventually. That is what I get for being lazy.

i agree. the drill and tap is the better way. it wasnt hard just make sure you get the tap started in straight and you do not go too deep with your threads. npt taps are tapered so you have to check your depth. you want the tip in the middle of the exhaust flow. it wasnt hard to get to the manifold so just take your time and make sure the tap is straight
