Breather Element Filter?
In an earlier post (Auto Rx/blowby?) I questioned about blowby in my motor (4.9/300 6 cylinder). I replaced the PCV valve, air filter, and breather element filter. Already, there appears to be what seems like water/moisture in the breather element filter. It is some what thicker. I am guessing that this a mixture of water and some small mixture of oil vapors. I do drive short distances. What can I do to alleviate this moisture problem?

It is normal for some water moisture inside the engine. I would make sure you don't have water in the oil. Is it milky? If not, you're OK. You may be getting an excess amount of oil up into the breather....a symptom of blowby, buildup of pressure inside the crankcase due to worn piston rings. Not a biggie. Let us know.

No milky residue. I did notice the oil cap was milky. The vehicle does set a lot and is driven short distances. I figured the milky residue was from condensation and was probably worsened if the PCV valve was not working. I'll keep a check on it to make sure I'm not getting a lot of blowby. Thanks for the input.
