depending who it is. I forgive, but if the person is not family or someone very close to me,I don't forget. as far as strangers go, GOD FORGIVES,I DON'T!!! if it was something stupid and not an accident.
i've screwed up sooo many times i lost count. my family & friends got over it most of the time. i'll give anyone the same chances i was given. i learned long ago that a little forgiveness carries more weight than being pissed at the person your mad at. it's not an open-ended deal, but a 2nd chance can't hurt

As I get older I find I have more capacity for forgiveness than I did in my younger days. Part of that comes, I think, from my family and friend's forgiveness for me, for a colossal screw-up of my own.
I have a cousin however who embezzled 75 grand from my family's business a number of years ago. Since he was family my parents had no desire to prosecute, so he got off scott-free.
I haven't seen him in more than 15 years and have no desire to do so. I haven't forgiven him, but I don't spend a lot of time worrying about it. He's just not a part of my life any more. If he gives the money back or makes some attempt at restitution I might consider forgiving him, but I don't trust him anymore and never will again.
