Question does Mountaineer Service engine soon = Explorer CE light?

Have a friend with a 2002 Mountaineer that wants me to change her oil. She says the Service Engine Soon light is on and in the past, that meant it was ready for an oil change.

I have code reader & resetter for CE, but wonder if that would reset the SES light or if there is something else that needs to be done with the oil change.

Thanks in advance
TV, Raleigh

Probably a code in the computer. Be a good compadre and scan away.

I believe all OBD2 systems and the CE lights are only for emissions. I bet da' gubbermint made it that way (it did).
