2.9 Ignition Timing
I have a 87 2.9. When I timed it last time I used a light plus a vacuum guage. I set the timing with the light and check with guage. According to the guage the timing was slow, so I set the timing to match the guage. After this I rechecked with the light and the light showed about 16 degrees. Vehichle seems to run okay but I am only getting 15 mpg's. It has new plugs, wires, cap, engine temp. sensor, and air charge sensor. I was wondering what is the correct to set the timing. Guage or light. If I set it back to 10 degrees will I get better MPG's. I do remove the SPOUT. Thanks.
