Remember to launch in 4-wheel drive. If you have shift on the fly remember to switch it back to 2wd once you get over 55 mph or some bad things might happen.

You won't be able to shift back to 2wd with non-SOTF. I'm pretty sure that you can over 55 w/ non-SOTF. Someone double check us please.

i would think that in the 3-4 shift (should be around 60 or so), reach down with your right foot and push the arm down when the clutch is in, whilst changing gears. you dont want do push down to disengage on it while on the power. if you have ESOF, i would not switch out of 4wd, as it takes a while to switch out under power, and at WOT, you dont know what could happen. the hubs are still locked in, why not transfer power to them?

1/4 mile time for a truck similar to yours with the mods you have now is probably gonna be no faster than high 16's, but more likely 17 second range. Found a guy who has a 99 crew cab short bed with the automatic transmission and similar mods, he ran it with a best time of 16.4 seconds. With a van turbo and such, i dunno. As for the 4x4 runs, some guys take it out of 4x4 after the launch, and some leave it in the whole time.
Just to hard with a 6 speed to do a quarter mile, can't powerbrake and boost well at the line unless you are talented with your feet, and you loose time shifting gears and you also have to then rebuild your boost once your in that next gear, unless you hands are as quick as mike tysons.

i think going wide open with 4wd on pavement would be hard on your drivetrain

its either WOT 4wd and hook up, or 2wd and roast tires for dinner. like drag racing ISN'T stressful on everything in the first place?
