2005 F150 FX4, This truck is experiencing uncontrolled acceleration! It as happen twice, and it has only 1,000 miles! Ford can't find the problem, has anyone had a problem with the new "drive by wire" trucks?? This truck will go to full acceleration as you come to a stop or are stopped!
I think I would have the Ford Dealer (Or take it to another) fix it, if it requires dropping in a new motor, so be it...Call Ford Customer care if you have a problem and the dealer refuses or "can't" fix it...

Not likely the truck is "self accelerating". The eletronic throttle is designed to default closed. There are several redundant pedal position sensors in the system.....any slight error detected and the system shuts down to idle. Not trying to start a battle here, but I suspect you are depressing the brake and accel pedal at the same time. These pedals are very close together in F150's. I've done it a few times myself and I only have size 10's .
I also have unknowingly pushed gas pedal with brake pedal when coming to a stop. Pedals are close together and if I wear my bigger winter boots, it will almost always happen the first stop. Scares the crap out of you. 2005 F150 Screw Lariat 4x4 with 35000 and not a single problem.
Same thing happened to me it was my size ten winter boot! I was slowing down for a curve and went faster. Almost sounds like a safty issue after seeing these other post.
The spacing of the pedals on my 06 compared with my 94 is very different!
I knew it as soon as I did it...
I drive a Dodge van at work, and if you think the spacing is close with the new f-150s.....
The dodge's brake and gas pedals are close enough that my size 12s hit them just about every time. I have to drive the thing, like Sammy Hagar says....
the brake pedal is small, but close to the gas.
Once in a while, I suddenly feel the brake pedal becomes bigger before pressing it, then I realize that my foot is on both pedals.
Sorry no driver error here! Sitting on ramp waiting for light to change, engine goes to full accelleration!! Rear wheels are squealing. Pop trans into neutral, engine rpm's are over 4000 and holding! I had to shut engine down, on restart all was normal.
Shoe size 8, professional driver and Ford call me today to say they were buying my truck back!!
Sounds like a massive lawsuit if this is a defect. Remember way back when...Audi's were accelerating on their own and there was a class action lawsuit that almost shut them down. Fords going to buy that thing back in a heartbeat to keep the same thing from happening that happened to them a few years ago with the Explorer/Firestone debacle
