Disc Brake Conversion
Does anyone know what rotors can be used to convert the front hubs to disc on my 53 F100's spindles. I want to retain the truck bolt pattern, and not go with the smaller car one.

Bulgod- As far as I know there isn't any rotor that fits on a 53 spindle. I recently did the conversion on my 56. The rotor they use are from a new F150 (like 98 and up). The calibers are GM. In order for the rotor to fit properly on the inner bearings and spindle, an adapter is put on to the stock spindle (comes with the kit). I don't know if they sell just the spindle adapter or not??? Check with Classic performance parts. That's the kit I bought. Came with everything for the conversion.

Most of the vendors that sell the disc brake conversion kits have a basic kit with just the brackets and spindle adapter as an option. This makes it cheaper on shipping cost and you can source your own calipers and discs locally, new or used. I used the ECI kit on my 55 and bought the whole kit. If I had it to do over again I would buy just the basic kit. You can see pics of my discs installed at my web page. Link is in my signature.
