Any of you running true dual exhaust but running it on the outside of the frame instead of the inside. See my 76 F-250 has twin tanks and well getting those two, 2 1/2 pipes side by side on the pass side by the tranny seems impossible Ive tried and tried. My tranny lines interfere. How hard would it be to run it outside the framerails on both sides? Im running 2 1/2 glasspacks with 3 1/2 or 4 inch echo tips.

I have twin tanks and dual exhaust. Here's how I did it...
Have the muffles guys come off the hedders, just like usual. Have them bend a 90 so that the driver's side pipe crosses right under the transmission cross member and then another 90 to put it in line with the passenger side pipe. I run a 2-in/1-out 50 series FlowMaster and dump the 3" outlet right at the rearend. Works like a champ and keeps my transmission pan exposed.
If you could make some fenderwell headers work it would be easy. The fenderwell headers only fit 4wds due to the placement of the steering box on a 2wd. (so I been told)
I'd say keep them inside the frame if you can and try not to make very many turns. Just depends if you are worried about performance.
I did my 77 F-150 4x4 with fenderwell headers into a couple of header extensions from Summit that go into Flowmaster mufflers and downbeats coming off the mufflers. Everything from the headers back is 3 inch. It works great and sounds awesome! Everything is outside the frame. Makes it nice for any work that needs doing underneath !

i'm using hedman elite ceramic coated fenderwell exit headers on my '77 f250. they require you to trim about 1/4" off the bottom of the inner passenger side fender, but other than that an easy install and they look cool. should work for you also. got some pics of them in my user gallery if ya want to check out how they look. they are real close to my cab mount bushings, but i've had no problems with this yet. i think you can get these without the ceramic coating for a few $$ less, good luck.
Well I looked I cant run it outsdie my framerails on the drivers side the tank selecor for the twintanks sits outside the frame so not possible. I think Im gonna go with the under the crossmember idea I got an hpipe to equalize pressuree so Im not worried there. Thanks do you have pics of your situp?

Yes, but not here. I'll grab them when I go home tonight and post them tomorrow.
I was thinking about getting rid of the side tank and putting the extra capasity 38gal tank in the rear, and then getting a set of chasis exit headers and runing 2 1/2in duals strait out the back.

I'm running fenderwell exit headers with the exhaust all running outside the frame. Mine is a 4x4 so I don't know about the header issues with a 2 wheel drive. Pics are in my exhaust gallery: https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=17989
Thanks, I figure thats what Ill have to do.I tried running two 2-1/2 pipes side by side on the passenger side by the tranny but no room, and couldnt go outsdie the frame rails as I thought cause the tank selector and lines outside the drivers side frame so that looks like my only option thanks.
