Hi Im a new user to your forum and Im hoping that I can get some help. I bought an 88 bronco II XLT, 5 speed, 4x4, dirt cheap...problem is, it wouldnt start. There was no fuel pump sound when I turned key on. So far I have jumped the fuel pump relay and also the inertia switch. There was sound but no start. Then I changed the spark plugs, plugged the fuel pump relay back in and also plugged in the inertia switch back in, and also fixed the ground on the battery. The wire was broken on the negative side. After all that, it finally starts....it ran about 5 minutes and then as soon as I turned on my lights it stalled. After a few minutes I got it to start again moved it about 6 feet and it died again. This time it would not start. I waited a few minutes and was able to get it start and then it immediately stalled for a final time. I ran a code test and came up with a #95 KOEO -fuel pump secondary circuit fault. I'm pretty much lost now. Where is the secondary circuit? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I would like to get this vehicle to my home.
It would be any of the wiring, grounds, relays that are part of the circuit for the fuel pumps.
I would start by checking for battery voltage at the fuel pumps while you trying to start it and when it's running. The thing that would be most interesting is what happens to the voltage right before it stalls. A fuel pressure check would also be a good idea.
secondary circut means for one of the fuel pumps being that it ran for a little while then keep stalling i thin that would suggest the in line pump to be at fualt ive heard the low pressure in tank one will make just enoug pressure to get some motor reaction but it will stall alot and have the horsepower that of a briggs and straton 5hp engine
Thanks for your help. I got it running today...I dont know how yet. I changed the fuel filter and played with the wires to the relays and next thing I know I hear the pumps go on...so I started it up and I drove it 10 miles to my house with no problems. So far, it keeps starting for me. We'll see how long it keeps it up. Thanks again.
