Are cracked manifolds common?

Are cracked exhaust manifolds (esp. pass. side) common on these things (7.3idi)? I have a cracked one, and nobody I talk to seem too surprised. Also, the aftermarket manual only shows removal of pass. side. Is it hard to change, assuming the fasteners aren't siezed?

First I heard of it. Never had a problem with the manifolds on my trucks or friends trucks.

slightly rare id say--never heard of it either--maybe a bolt broke--or came loose--hence the crack?????

I have had one crack on the passenger side between the #3 and #5 cylinder.
Never had any problems getting the bolts out either.

never seen one crack,but have seen a couple rot clean through
