Chinese Invasion
I would also recommend Hindi as well - in fact probably more so than Chinese, as (without getting into politics), the Indian government has been more receptive to investment from other nations than China.
Cantonese is used only in a small part of the southern China, including Hong Kong. It's just one of the thousands of the dialects in China. You guys are familiar with it, and even talking it with Mandorin in parallel, just because people speaking Cantonese in China live near the shore and came to US a lot.
Mandorin is spoken in most of the mainland China, Beijing, Shanghai, etc. It's the official Chinsese language for most political, economic, culture activities. And people in Hong Kong, Taiwan started using Mandorin more, in their daily lives, TV programs, even CD records.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is you can make an underpowered truck/small fuel efficient car, offer next to no additional options on the base model trucks and make the small cars uncomfortable and ride rough, place about two of the fuel efficient models on every dealers lot for the purposes of test drives to compare against more profitable models as a way to encourage people to spend more. Try looking for a base model Tacoma in something other than white and you will see exactly what I'm explaining, then try to get the sales staff at a dealership to show you the vehicle. They will continue to direct you toward the more expensive models.
There is a niche market out there for comfortable base model vehicles with select options available. If the China jumps into this niche with China pricing, the other automakers are going to feel the pain.
