Taylor Plug Wire Problems :(

I ordered a set of Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm plug wires for my 78 351m and they don't seem to fit. The distributor ends fit, but the plug boot ends aren't popping into place. I think the clip is too deep into the boot rubber. I called Taylor and they told me to send the set to them and they will replace the set for me. To add to that, they are not the correct lengths either. Taylor techs told me to measure from tip to tip and all the plug wires, except the coil wire are off by an inch or so.

This is the first time I've tried Taylor wires, and so far it is not a happy experience. Has anyone else had troubles with their Taylor plug wires? Should the plug boots be 135 degrees? I think a straight boot would fit better?

Taylor Plug Wire Problems :(

Had the exact same problem with Ford oem wires (sorry not Taylor) on my 78 with a 400. I had the straight boot on it but the book showed a 90 bent boat to the plug. I actually had the guy give me a set of plug wires for a 77 400 that had the straight boot. Seems like they are a bit longer than need be but they work at least. The 90 boot will never seat right.
