I do not like the way my psd changes gears. I am never hauling anything just cruising down the road and it seems like from 2nd gear through 3rd gear no matter how light I am on the pedal, it just does not want to change gears until it hits about 23 to 2500 rpm. What can I do to change that. I would like it to shift around 1900 rpm or so. Anything more than that just seems like a waste of fuel. Do I need to change my gear ratio or what??
people here have great comments about DP-tuner and TS performance. i just bought a custom burnt TS perf. 6 position chip from Garrett @ BlackCloudDiesel. he put some custom two or three-off burns on my chip for the transmission shifting and torque converter. i also bought a lockup switch at the same time.
Thanks Strokin! I think I might go with the TS performance chip. What do you think about the Sonnax springs mod?? It seems like a cheap mod and it might help with my problem.
I just got the TS performance chip and already have the sonnax/tricumulator set up. Love the sonnax, but sending back the chip today to have them reset the torque converter lockup. It shifts fine for thee 3rd to overdrive, but the TC locks up at the same time causing the rpm to drop to 1200, this only occurs under light throttle, but is annoying. If you want it right ask that the TC lock up around 45-47 mph or about 1600 rpm. Just my thoughts. Take them or leave them.
I think I am going to go ahead and order the sonnax! Cheap mods work for me. I am going to hold off on the chip until I get some gauges. Thanks for the input!
