4r100 for an e40d?

Hey all, anyone know if we can directly install a 4r100 in place of an e40d?
I have a 97 250. Just curious. Any benefits from doing this?

no i dont believe its very easy, thinkin there is some electronic and internal differences. I know my new tranny has a 4r100 pump and a few other 4r parts but its highly modified like the rest of the truck.

Yeah, I just noticed that whenever you look up performance trannys they alway call it an "e40d/4r100". and I thought the 4r100 was a way better tranny. thanks Luke. BTW, any new videos or pics of the monster?

nah nothin yet, as soon as tranny is fixed there will be a dyno video shot! Also new chrome 5" mitre cut stacks are goin on b4 dyno
