Does anyone know of any issues after upgrading a pcm. I am supposed to be getting a dpc-422 from DP-Tuner to replace my dpc-402 on my early 99. They sent the wrong one today but after a call he says he will send the right one tomorrow. Did a google search and found out some people have had some problems after the switch. Just wondering if anyone has done this and what was the result.
Cruise control light staying on. One guy claimed high egt's and defueling. Codes for AIH when early 99 didn't come with one.
I don't think I will see a problem but wanted to know if anyone has done this.
Here's the whole story so far. Today they sent me the Dpc-402 reflashed with the 40 hp tune in error. When I first ordered Jody recomended I go with the dpc-422 because it has better programming. 402 uses xle 422 uses pmt. "Much better trans strategy" All this means nothing to me except I stick the reflashed 402 in just to see and it works great. Much quicker smoother shifts and more power. The system he sent is $75 The one I ordered and he is sending tomorrow is $225. Would like to know if I'm getting $150 worth of improvment. Hoping someone has some insight.

What ECU did you go with? I am looking at the same issue.
You would need to talk to Jody about the difference in price. Usually, a trade plus a tune is $75 and an outright buy of a PCM with a tune is $225. Sounds like there is some confusion...talk with Jody. I have an early 99 and I purchased a PMT1 from Jody with a 80 econo tune. Best money I have spent on my rig (and I have spent my share). Later, I put a flip switch over the PMT1, but if I ever take out the chip for any reason, I still have the best tunes around. I HATE driving with stock programing!
Thanks for the info. I have been talking with Jody. I just need to verify my PCM and decide on the tune. It sounds like the 80 eco is a good all around setting.
