Engine question
I notice a lot of posts that refer to some engines as "FE". Not trying to sound stupid or anything, but what does "FE" stand for? I'm sure it's going to be obvious when it's posted, but I'm just not that knowledgeable about older Ford engines. I've always been a Chebbie guy until now.

I'll give you the abridged version of the discussion. People generally agree to disagree that it means Ford Engine or Ford Edsel...either way you decide to lean, it's completely irrelevant some 40 years after the motor was first designed.

"FE" is not an acronym. It does not stand for anything! It only represents a large family of ford engines the most famous being the "390,427,428".

i always thought it was the periodic symbol for 'iron' - as in 300lb cast iron intake manifold.

Ok the ones i heard were FORD EDSEL, Ford Engine , and i think someone refred to them as F######## Expensive. I kinda like the last one
