Looking for ideas. i have a 86 F150 standard cab. It will have bucket seats so what have people done with the little space they have for there stereo system,
Kenwood makes a nice powered sub. It has a built in 250W amp and a 10" speaker. The whole enclosure will probably fit between the seats. I have one in my car and it sounds great. All the wiring is included, so you don't need to buy any install kits. It cost me about $250 with easy to read instructions.
That's a nice sub for the space, without an amp you have less to buy and fit somewhere.
Your best bet is to look at Crutchfield or eBay and get some specs on a box, or measure yourself, and build to fit, if you're good at that sorta thing.
Bucket seats...like total buckets with space in the middle?
Cut a peice of MDF or plywood to cover the entire back lower wall, mount an amp in the middle, build a box to lie against the seat on each side of the amp and put a 10" or 12" sub in it. Two total off one amp, niiiice bass.
Just make sure if you build your own make it to the specs of your subs. Same with buying an already made box. Make sure your enclosure volume is what the sub needs.
As well with screws, use wood glue as well. It will make a more stable box. The wood glue actually holds it together and seals it as the screws hold it together untill the glue dries. Then seal it with a silicone based caulk, and don't put your subs in for 2 days because the caulking makes some fumes that damage the subs untill the caulking cures.
