This is for a 78 351M stock engine. It is a half circle shaped piece of black plastic with two or three wires coming out of it. It slides on top of the stock coil. It connects the two electrical terminals on top of the coil. Mine is cracked in half and about to fall off.
My local Ford Dealership has no idea what it is or what the part number is. My local auto parts store has no idea either. Obsolete Ford sees it in their parts book, but that is something that they don't stock or even have names or part numbers for.
That’s just the connector for the coil on the Duraspark II systems. They went to this connector and a high output coil with the pins so you don’t use an earlier style coil on the newer system. Try the salvage yards for your search.
It's the coil connector. They crack when they get old. there is no replacement to my knowledge. I go to the junkyard and cut one out. Splice it in to your harness and your good to go.
Good luck, Have Fun

You can cut the fastener away and splice female spade connectors on, then simply attach to coil. This doesn't work to well though.
And yes kingfisher I have busted away the plastic to reveal the spade terminals, but like you said it dont work to well and willcome undone rather quickly
I gave up. No one sells this part. FORD doesn't even stock it or know if it's still made. I bought an Accel 8140C chrome performance coil. Made a noticeable difference on startup! Thanks for the suggestions ya'll.
