front rotors

have a 2002 350 psd cc 4x4 with 90k more or less, have gone through 2 sets of front rotors and two sets front pads, one set original and this set of ceramic pads. almost all highway miles and perhaps 20k pulling a travel trailer or hauler a camper. will need to replace the front rotors AGAIN soon.
anyone know of an aftermarket set that is a bigger/better than the stock size?
btw i still have the stock 265-16's on the truck but will be going to 19.5 wheels and 245's tires soon and will need stronger brakes.
the rear brakes are find

eisen,

We sell a lot of the Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads, I find the ceramic pads to stop pretty good but they are waaaay to aggressive on the rotor, The Hawk HPS is good for light towing, the Super Duty pad for heavier towing is great. I would stay away from the ceramics as a general rule, they squeak a lot too. Give us a call we can get you pricing and performance info on the Powerslots and Hawks.

Look into the Performance Friction pads and rotors. They have unmatched quality. There is a reason they provide the majority of brakes used in several racing venues including nascar. They are a little higher initially but then again how much have you spent so far. I would venture to guess a good bit more than the cost on pfc rotors and pads. You will not warp these rotors and the stopping performance is a big improvement. Let me know if you want any additional info.

I travel a lot of highway and country miles. I had the pads changed , but not the rotors at 38,000. Didn't touch the rotors. I had the rotors and pads changed at 100,000 miles. Something doesn't seem right, the front and back should wear evenly. Sounds like the front is engaging too soon , ahead of the rear

the front brakes should be engaging before the rear, to compensate for weight transfer when stopping

I think you'll find that the front brakes will wear sooner - they are doing 60-70% of the braking.

Do a search on ART rotors. I've had them for quite some time and absolutely love them. Check them out at appliedrotortechnology.com. You won't regret getting these rotors, they cost a little more than your average rotor but the performance and life span more than make up for it.
