Question cluch problem

Here is the deal. About four months ago I put a nnew cluch on my sons f150 truck it is a 90. The line into the slave was leaking so I put in a new one. It has had a small leak since then. Last night I pulled the line bacl off since his cluch wasnt working again and now when I put the line back in it just leaks everywhere. Is there a way to fix the conection at the slave????

Thanks

Yes, but you have to pull the tranny to get to it. When you put the line back on the slave, you have to make sure the little white collar on the line pops back out. It sounds like you didn't get it all the way on the first time.

Yes, after you remove the line completely, pull the white collar back, then push it back in.

Double check the o-ring at the end first... sometimes they tear coming out and it's easily overlooked.

Also make sure there isn't any dirt in the fitting the line goes into, that too would cause sealing issues. Compressed air can clean that out. Just wear goggles.

Thanks, when I push it back in it lets the line move back just enough to let it leak. What holds it in tight?

the "fingers" inside the slave cylinder. If you can pull it back, the slave fitting is shot, and the slave cylinder needs to be replaced.

You didn't need to bump BTW... some of us don't read these forums on an hourly basis

Sorry. So there is no way to fix it without putting a new slave in it? THAT STINKS
