My daughter-in-law had some "friends" move her last weekend and they broke the screen of the projection TV set. Has anyone ever replaced a broken one before? NOt only did the plexi-glas outermost screen shatter, but the inner magifier one has a hole dead center. Can anyone guess repair costs? Can it even be done? Thanks.
Personally, I would check with the insurance company as it should be covered for a replacement.
The screen, if you find one which will probably be obsolete and gathering dust in some unknown place will still probably cost as much as 1/2 of a new one.... never mind the other part.
Lets face it - her friends destroyed it. It ain't going to be covered by the insurance for non-professional movers.
It's just gone...
You can dump money into recovering something that is outmoded, or get a digital projector that will play a screen on the wall twice or three times the size.
I vote BIGGER!
- Not to mention higher resolution at a smaller price tag.
You can play your movies out of a computer, or a 99 dollar SONY DVD unit
Get over it - it is old tech, and broken.
You can have what looks like your very own movie theatre, or fiddle with a stupid little screen that takes up a lot of space.
Which do you prefer?
Projection screens were always a pain anyway. The guns go astray over time, and cannot be corrected (red/blue/green focus)

A comprehensive homeowner's policy would cover it. Read your policy. A comp. policy covers sudden and accidental damages unless it is excluded under the exclusions section of the policy. Also condider policy deductible.
