i was told that the super duty and the excursion had different mounts. and that a super duty bumper will not bolt to an excursion and vise versa.. i am not sure . does anyone know for a fact which is true??? oh, turbostroke, it looks sweet. i like the chrome hooks and the valance.
I don't see why someone would say that. My update bumper is from a super duty,
caddy, i think i misunderstood. if i remember correctly, they said that the mounts are a little different, not the bumper.. i dont know, probably just a line of crap????
what valance is that turbostroke?? i like the whole look of your front end
Thanks Lowrango... It's made by a company called Xenon. Their part # is 8441 for the super duty/excursion. They call it a lower front air dam and you can find some on e-bay for $209. It's an injection molded urethane valance that's identical to stock with the exception of the round holes for fog lights. You do have to paint it or have it painted as it comes flat black when you get it. Takes about 4 weeks to get one as they are custom made on a per order basis.

do you have to run the h13 bulbs on your truck with the new lights or do the 9007 still work. If i deside to change the headlamp, I need to know for HID lights. I don't want to buy them twice.

Yes - now you will have to run the H13 lights as the new headlight housing will only accept this style base. You can by a H13 harness from Ford that they use on the 05-06 models @ $50.00 a piece or I made my own for a few bucks as shown below....check my gallery as there are still some pics in there from the "facelift"....
Just put in 05 headlights into my 2000 Excursion. Some cutting of the "header panel" is needed (only fiberglass). You can get a upgraded wiring harness from GOS Perfermance...nice people, great product. Very easy to install. The h13 bulb I used was the Slyvania Xtravision (20% brighter) and the new harness ups the current from about 10 to 14. These three changes made a huge improvement in nighttime visiblity and looks much better too!
have you seen the ones that look close to the 2005 on ebay. they are a nice one piece headlight with leds on the side. I am probably going to go that route.
chris, i heard alot of bad things as far as quality on those pieces. for me, that type of thing has to be genuine ford or nothing at all. but thanks for the reply.
i just picked up a set of 05 lights for my 00 "X" for 150.00(brand new, still with wrapper on them), the guy didn't want to cut anything on his truck and tore up the boxes and couldn't return them...
now i have to pick up a grill and try and get a deal on the newer tow mirrors so i can get the "whole" look.
lowrango, you said all you need is the grill and the mirrors? you do know that you cant put the grill on unless you have the new bumper right? the tow mirrors are the same arent they...
they have had the signals now for a while. and there are 05 and 06 trucks that do not come with the signal mirrors. you have to get the truck with power mirrors, then you get the signals. the only way to install the grill without the bumper is to cut the bottom of the grille. cheesy in my opinion. there is an outfit on ebay that does it. its like $259. i am talking about installing the grill and bumper assemblies from an 05 with no cutting of the new parts.. you can definately tell if the truck has the old style bumper and the new grill because of the bumpers.
